Afghanistan has always been a victim of terrorism and attacks from enemies who claimed to be well wishers and allies of this land. Afghanistan first saw a bloodiest period in 1979 during the Soviet deployment. The nine year Severe conflict between the soviet army and the terrorists destroyed several innocent lives. Estimates on civilian deaths vary at under 700,000 to over 2,000,000. Many civilians took shelter in neighboring countries as refugees. The younger's lost their future and the elders lost their lives.
This country is still under invasion by Taliban and US Army. It never was independent.
